CEO and Founder Walter Segaloff is Virginian of the Year!
The Virginia Press Association has named Walter Segaloff, the CEO and Founder of An Achievable Dream, as its Virginian of the Year for 2013. Ginger Stanley, executive director of the VPA, said the committee selected Segaloff because of his vision's lasting impact. The award was presented on April 19 during the VPA's annual conference. An Achievable Dream Academy and An Achievable Dream Middle & High School Make AYP
The two Achievable Dream academies are among the 38% of Virginia schools that made Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) under the federal No Child Left Behind program. The AYP rating is determined by scores on the Virginia Standards of Learning tests, graduation rates, and other criteria.
