Fundraising Events
Large Shaded Line

An Achievable Dream relies on the support of our donors in order to provide for the needs of our Dreamers. To support the day-to-day elements of the program (extended school days, Saturday school, field trips, etc) as well as long-term needs (scholarships for college), our organization hosts two major fundraising events during the year. These events provide fellowship for donors and fun in support of a good cause.

Join us next year to Run for the Dream, May 21-22, 2011
To benefit An Achievable Dream and in support of The Wounded Warriors Project
Excitement is building for the first Run for the Dream Half Marathon, which will take place in Williamsburg next spring. Announcement of the event was made on May 11 by Walter Segaloff, founder and CEO of An Achievable Dream, and Colonial Williamsburg President Colin Campbell. Hoping to build the event into one of the premier half marathons in the country, An Achievable Dream has hired Dave McGillivray, veteran race director of the Boston Marathon, and his company, DMSE Sports, to manage operations and serve as race director.

In addition to the Half Marathon on Sunday, the weekend will include the Fit to Run, Fit to Dream 8K Run/Walk on Saturday. Both races will start on the campus of the College of William & Mary, wind through the Colonial Williamsburg Historic Area, and end at the College’s Zable Stadium. The Half Marathon route will take runners down the Colonial Parkway toward Jamestown before returning to the City of Williamsburg and the Historic Area. TowneBank, Colonial Williamsburg, and Busch Gardens are the Title Sponsors of the event, and Colonial Williamsburg will serve as the official hotel sponsor. Presenting sponsors for the 8K on Saturday are Smithfield Foods and Riverside Health System.
